What is a Cloud Instance?+
A full root cloud instance with a fresh OS - like a cloud VPS. You get root over an isolated instance and can install and run whatever you want, from a full root web terminal (or via our AI agent over MCP), or by connecting GitHub and auto-deploying like a site.
How is it different from Website Hosting?+
Website Hosting deploys a single frontend app from GitHub. A Cloud Instance is a superset: it can do that too, but it is a general-purpose root box - Docker, full-stack apps, databases, any language, your choice - with full root terminal access (and AI/MCP command access).
Can I run Docker and docker-compose?+
Yes. A Cloud Instance is general-purpose, so multi-service docker-compose stacks, your own containers and a bundled database all run on it.
Can I still deploy from GitHub?+
Yes. Connect a repo and a branch and the instance builds and runs it for you, the same pipeline a site uses - and you still have full root access to the box alongside it.
Do I get SSL and a custom domain?+
Yes. Every instance gets HTTPS from the first deploy on a free hostwares.app address, or on your own domain, with certificates issued and renewed for you.
Which ports and services can I run?+
HTTP/HTTPS are routed to your instance automatically with free SSL. You can also expose a custom TCP/UDP port (for example a game server or an API) from the control panel - we give it a unique public port on your instance hostname, forwarded only to your own instance. Port 25 (SMTP) is blocked to prevent spam abuse; send email through an API provider such as SES, Resend or SendGrid.
Is the instance isolated from other customers?+
Yes. Each instance is your own isolated environment - only you can see or reach it, and another account can never touch it.
Can I resize later?+
Yes. Move between instance sizes at any time; a resize keeps your disk and data and is a short reboot onto more resources, and your renewal stays at the rate you signed up on.
Is there a free tier?+
No. We don't run a free tier - that is how we keep instances always on and support real. You only pay for the size you launch.
