How Vercel Pro pricing works
Pro costs $20 per user per month and comes with $20 of usage credit. Included with the account are 1 TB of Fast Data Transfer and 10 million edge requests. Beyond those, transfer is $0.15/GB and edge requests are $2 per million. Function invocations are $0.60 per million, Active CPU $0.128/hour and provisioned memory $0.0106/GB-hour. Build minutes are billed separately at $0.014-$0.105 per minute depending on machine class, which this calculator does not model.
Where Vercel is simply better
- • The edge network. Global, fast, and we do not have an equivalent — we run containers in a region, not at 300 points of presence.
- • Preview deployments per pull request. Best in class, and a real part of how teams review work.
- • Next.js. They build the framework; nothing else will ever integrate it as tightly.
- • Image optimisation, analytics and instant rollbacks as first-party features.
The case for moving is not that Vercel is bad. It is that a full-stack app with a database, background jobs and steady traffic pays for metered serverless it does not benefit from. If your app is a Next.js frontend that needs the edge, stay.
