Lovable hosting alternatives for apps built in Lovable

Lovable is where the app gets built, and for most people it should stay that way. Publishing to a lovable.app address is free on every plan, and Lovable says a live site does not consume credits on its own. The questions that bring people here are different ones: a custom domain needs a paid plan, apps that lean on backend or AI features can pause when credits run out, and the Free plan caps a project at 1,000 server requests per ten seconds. If any of those is your situation, the fix is to keep Lovable for building and move where the app runs.

When to stay with Lovable hosting

Stay on Lovable hosting if you are still iterating daily, your app is small, you are happy on the lovable.app address, and you do not use heavy backend or AI features. Lovable publishes that hosting there is free for that case, and nothing here beats free. Move when you need your own domain without a plan upgrade, when you want the app to keep working independently of your credit balance, or when you want a database and sign-in users you can back up and restore yourself.

What it costs on Hostwares

Dedicated Supabase

  • • A Lovable app is a Vite or React build, so the cheapest Frontend pack usually runs it. If the app has a database and sign-in users, add a dedicated Supabase pack and move the data with the migration tool.
  • • Lovable does not publish a per-app hosting price, so there is no like-for-like number to put next to ours; the plan prices are on lovable.dev/pricing.
  • • Flat for the pack's term. Bandwidth is not metered, there is no per-seat fee, and payment comes before the build starts.

Moving off Lovable hosting?

Point HW — our AI DevOps agent — at your repo and it migrates your Lovable hosting app for you: detects the framework, wires the database, sets env vars, and configures SSL. No manual reconfiguration.

  • Managed Postgres, MySQL, Redis or bring your own — env vars injected automatically.
  • One-click SSL, global CDN, and flat container pricing — no per-deploy credits.
  • The AI does the migration — you review and go live.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to stop using Lovable to host my app somewhere else?

No. Connect the Lovable project to GitHub, keep editing in Lovable, and Hostwares deploys from that repository each time you push. You change where the app runs, not where you build it.

Is Lovable hosting free?

Publishing to a lovable.app address is free on all plans, and Lovable says a live site does not consume credits on its own. A custom domain needs a paid plan, and apps that rely on backend or AI features can pause when the credits run out.

What does it cost to host a Lovable app on Hostwares?

A Frontend pack from $1/mo for the app itself. If the app has a database and sign-in users, a dedicated Supabase pack from $5/mo holds them. Prices are flat for the pack's term.

How does the database move?

A backup tool runs on your computer, signs in to Lovable in your own browser and saves your tables, rows, sign-in users and uploaded files. You upload that backup in your Supabase project's Restore tab, up to 200 MB in the dashboard, and point the site at the new project with environment variables. The wizard is at /dashboard/migrate.

Will my app behave the same?

A standard React or Next.js app does. Lovable-only services such as its AI features or edge functions may need a small amount of rewiring, and secrets you added in Lovable have to be added again in the site's Environment tab.
