Move a Lovable app to Hostwares in 5 steps
Keep building in Lovable. Run the result on a pack with a flat price, your own domain, and a database you can back up and restore yourself. No screenshots here, just what each step does.
- 1
Export the app from Lovable to GitHub
In Lovable, open the project and connect it to GitHub. Lovable creates a repository and keeps it in sync, so every edit you make in Lovable afterwards lands there too. You keep building in Lovable; the repository is just where the code lives.
If the project is already connected, note the repository name. Nothing else is needed from Lovable for the code.
- 2
Connect the repository and pick a pack
Sign in to Hostwares, create a site, choose the GitHub repository and a pack. Lovable apps are Vite builds, so the framework is detected and the build and start commands are filled in. A pack is fixed CPU, RAM and disk at a flat monthly price; the smallest Frontend pack runs most Lovable apps.
Payment comes first: the order creates an invoice and the build starts once it is paid.
- 3
Move the data, if the app has any
If your app has a database, sign-in users or uploaded files, order a dedicated Supabase pack and create a project in it. Then run the backup tool on your own computer: it signs in to Lovable in your browser, keeps the token on your machine, and saves your tables, rows, functions, access rules, users and files. Upload that backup in the project's Restore tab (up to 200 MB in the dashboard; larger backups go through a support ticket).
What moves: your database structure, your app's logic, all your data, sign-in users, uploaded files. Users keep their passwords.

Set the environment and Supabase keys
Open the site's Environment tab and add the variables your app reads. For the Supabase connection, your project's Overview has a "Connect to your frontend site" block with the exact names and values; paste them in and redeploy. Secrets you added inside Lovable (payment or email keys) are not exported, so add them here too.
These values are baked in at build time, so the site rebuilds after you change them. The current version keeps serving until the new build is ready.
Variable Value VITE_SUPABASE_URL Your project's URL, e.g. https://myapp-ab12cd34.hostwares.appWhere the app sends its database and sign-in requests. VITE_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY Your project's public (anon) keySafe to ship in the browser; your data is still protected by its access rules. VITE_SUPABASE_PUBLISHABLE_KEY The same public keyNewer Lovable apps read this name. Set both. SUPABASE_URL, SUPABASE_PUBLISHABLE_KEY The same URL and public key, without the VITE_ prefixApps that render pages on the server read these plain names while running. Without them every page can say a Supabase environment variable is missing. - 5
Add your domain and check SSL
Every site gets a free hostwares.app address with HTTPS. To use your own domain, add it on the site's Domains tab, create the DNS record it shows at your registrar, and the certificate is issued for you once the record resolves. Open the site, sign in with an existing account, and open a page that shows uploaded files.
Lovable keeps publishing to its own address as well, so you can switch the domain over when the Hostwares copy looks right.
Every click and command, including what does not move, is in the migration guide.
What it costs
Flat monthly packs. Nothing is metered and there is no per-seat fee; payment comes before the build starts.
App only
$1/mo
Starter Frontend pack, 1 vCPU / 1 GB RAM / 10 GB
App with more room
$5/mo
Standard Frontend pack, 1 vCPU / 4 GB RAM / 25 GB

Smallest dedicated Supabase pack; several projects fit on one
Questions
Do I have to leave Lovable?+
No. Keep editing in Lovable; the GitHub repository it maintains is what Hostwares deploys from. You change where the app runs, not where you build it.
Does Hostwares need my Lovable login or keys?+
No. The backup tool runs on your computer and signs in to Lovable in your own browser. Nothing from Lovable passes through our servers, and the tool asks for no key.
What if my app has no database?+
Then steps 3 and the Supabase part of step 4 do not apply: connect the repository, pick a pack, add any other environment variables and your domain.
Can the AI do the migration for me?+
Yes. Tell HW "migrate my Lovable app" in the dashboard. It creates the project and site, gives you the one backup command to run, waits for your upload, connects the site and deploys it, then reports what was restored against what was backed up. The wizard is at /dashboard/migrate.
What does it cost?+
A Frontend pack from $1/mo for the app, and a dedicated Supabase pack from $5/mo if the app has data and users. Both are flat for the pack's term; nothing is metered.
