Claude Code + Hostwares: From Terminal to Live App
Claude Code is a terminal-based AI coding tool that can help developers build, edit, and manage application code from their development environment. After your application is ready, you still need a hosting environment to make it available online. With a GitHub-based workflow, you can take your Claude Code project to Hostwares, deploy it, connect a custom domain, configure SSL, and manage future updates.
Step 1: Create Your Hostwares Account
Visit the Hostwares website and click Get Started. If you already have an account, click Login and sign in. After logging in, open the Hostwares Dashboard.
Step 2: Prepare Your Claude Code Project
Use Claude Code to build and test your application. Before deployment, check that your project has the required files, dependencies, build commands, environment variables, and database or API configuration. Keep sensitive information such as passwords and API keys out of your GitHub source code.
Step 3: Push the Project to GitHub
Create or use a GitHub repository for your project. Commit your latest changes and push the project to GitHub. For example: github.com/yourusername/my-claude-app Make sure the repository contains the version you want to deploy.
Step 4: Create Your Hostwares Site
Log in to Hostwares and go to Sites. Click New Site. Choose the GitHub deployment option and connect your GitHub account. Select your Claude Code project repository and the required branch, such as main.
Step 5: Configure Your Application
Review the deployment settings required by your project. These may include: Framework Build command Start command Runtime Environment variables Use the configuration that matches your application's actual requirements. Then select a suitable Hostwares hosting resource for your project.
Step 6: Deploy Your App
Start the deployment from Hostwares. Hostwares will retrieve your project from GitHub and run the configured deployment process. When deployment is complete, open the provided URL and test your application.
Step 7: Connect Your Domain and SSL
Once your application is working, open the domain settings in Hostwares. Add your custom domain, such as: yourdomain.com Update the required DNS records at your domain provider using the instructions provided by Hostwares. After the domain is connected, configure SSL and check your website through: https://yourdomain.com
Step 8: Publish Future Updates
Continue developing your application with Claude Code. When you make changes, commit and push the updated code to GitHub. If Git-based automatic deployment is configured for your Hostwares site, new changes can be deployed through that workflow. If automatic deployment is not enabled, use the available Hostwares deployment controls to publish the updated version.
Step 9: Manage Your Live App
After launch, continue managing your website from the Hostwares Dashboard.
