Claude Code can work directly with your project files, help write code, debug problems, and make changes from the terminal. But there's still one part of the workflow developers traditionally have to handle separately:
Infrastructure.
You finish coding, then switch to a hosting dashboard. You check logs somewhere else. You configure the domain somewhere else. You restart the application from another terminal. Hostwares now supports an MCP-based workflow that allows compatible AI clients to interact with Hostwares infrastructure directly.
What Is MCP?
MCP, or Model Context Protocol, allows an AI client to interact with external tools and services through a standardized interface. For Hostwares, the MCP server exposes infrastructure operations that can be used by compatible clients. The current Hostwares MCP announcement lists tools for deployment, site status, logs, environment variables, domains, databases, and restarting sites. That changes the workflow. Instead of:
Code → Open hosting dashboard → Find project → Check logs → Make changes
you can work more conversationally:
Code → Ask the AI → Infrastructure action
Deploy From Your AI Workflow
Imagine you've finished an application in Claude Code. Instead of manually navigating through your hosting dashboard, you can connect Hostwares through MCP and ask Claude to deploy the project.
For example:
Deploy this repository to Hostwares. The AI can use the connected Hostwares tools to perform the deployment workflow. The exact actions depend on the tools and permissions available to the connected account.
Check Your Application Without Leaving the Workflow
Deployment isn't the end. Production applications eventually produce errors. Maybe an API starts returning errors. Maybe the site is down. Maybe you need to check the latest logs. With the Hostwares MCP integration, compatible AI clients can access operations such as:
Checking site status Reading logs Restarting a site Setting environment variables Adding domains Creating databases These are among the nine tools currently documented for the Hostwares MCP server.
Why This Matters for AI-Assisted Development
AI coding tools are becoming better at writing applications. But an application isn't useful simply because the code exists It needs somewhere to run. It needs environment variables. It may need a database. It needs a domain. It needs monitoring. It needs a way to recover when something goes wrong. Connecting the coding assistant to infrastructure reduces the gap between writing the application and running the application.
Getting Started
Hostwares provides an MCP endpoint for compatible clients. The official announcement explains that Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, ChatGPT, and other compatible clients can connect to the Hostwares MCP server.
You need a Hostwares API key from your dashboard and then configure the MCP connection in your compatible client.
Once connected, you can use natural-language requests to interact with supported infrastructure operations.
Keep the Code and Infrastructure Together
This doesn't mean the AI replaces your judgment. You still decide what should be deployed, which resources the application needs, and what changes are appropriate for production. The benefit is that the infrastructure becomes accessible through the same workflow you already use for development.
Your project can move from:
Idea → Code → Deploy → Monitor → Fix
without requiring a completely separate workflow for every step. The New AI Development Workflow AI coding has already changed how applications are built. The next step is connecting that development workflow to the infrastructure running the application. With Claude Code and Hostwares MCP, you can keep more of that process inside an AI-assisted workflow.
Write the code. Deploy it. Check the logs. Configure the environment. Manage the application. All through connected tools.
