CRUD is one of the basic patterns behind many web applications.
CRUD stands for:
Create
Read ** Update**
Delete
Supabase makes these operations available through its client libraries and APIs.
Create
Use an insert operation when your application needs to add a new record. Examples include creating: Users' notes Products Tasks Posts Read
Use a select operation to retrieve records.
Your application can request all allowed records or filter them according to the user's needs.
Update
When a user edits an existing record, send the updated values to Supabase. Make sure your security policies prevent users from modifying records they don't own.
**Delete ** Delete should also respect your authorization rules. Don't assume that hiding a delete button is enough protection.
Add Loading and Error States
Your UI should show what is happening while the database request is running. If the request fails, display a useful error instead of silently doing nothing. CRUD becomes the foundation for many dashboards, admin panels, SaaS applications, and internal tools.
