Docker gives developers a portable way to package applications. But having an image doesn't automatically mean the application is online. You still need somewhere to run it.
Start With Your Image
For example: myusername/my-app:latest You can use an existing image or publish your own image to a registry.
Create a Deployment
Hostwares supports Docker-based deployments. Provide the image and configure the port your application listens on. For example: Image: myusername/my-app:latest Port: 3000 Add Environment Variables If your container expects configuration such as: DATABASE_URL= API_KEY= NODE_ENV=production add those values through the deployment environment.
Connect Your Domain
After the container starts successfully, add your custom domain and configure HTTPS. You don't need to manually build the entire reverse-proxy and certificate workflow just to get a Docker application online.

Docker gives you consistency. Your image contains the application environment it needs. Your hosting platform provides the infrastructure where that image runs.
